Qatar Meteorology Department warns drivers from low visibility

Qatar Meteorology Department has issued warning for citizens of low visibility on Thursday (May 10th) due to unstable weather conditions. Where the country is witnessing  a strong northern winds of more than 30 knots per hour accompanied by a wave of dust.

Scattered rain are expected to fall in some areas and may be accompanied by thunderstorms. The weather is expected to be dusty with some clouds and an opportunity for light rain, until 6 pm today. Offshore, the weather is partly cloudy and cloudy with scattered rain.

The Department issued several warnings, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Civil Aviation Authority, on its official Twitter account, and asked citizens to avoid marine activities due to high waves and strong winds as well as to avoid exposure to dust for those suffering from chest diseases. For drivers, visibility drops down to 2 km in some areas with visibility ranges between 4 and 8 km. Wave height could reach up to 5 feet in some areas.

Wind speed is expected to vanish gradually in the late afternoon. It also published some tips and guidelines to be followed, wishing safety for all.
